Project Planet is the hospitality industry's leader in environmental linens and
towels re-use programs. Recently, the American Hotel and Lodging Association replaced
their Good Earthkeeping program in favor of endorsing Project Planet. Project
Planet is only the third company the AH & LA has endorsed in their 90 year
history!
Project Planet
revolves around asking guests to use their bed linens and towels more than once.
When guests participate (between 68% and 72% of guests participate) and re-use
their sheets and towels, hotels save money in reduced water, energy, labor, detergent,
and sheet/towel replacement costs.
Environmentally,
Project Planet makes a large impact, saving 6000 gallons of water monthly and
40 gallons of detergent monthly (based on an average-sized 100 room hotel).
